Human Body Systems
Circulatory System: In the circlatory system the heart pumps blood, which travels through arteries, to all parts of the body. The blood carries oxygen and food that the body needs to live. Veins carry the blood back to the heart.
Digestive System: The digestive system moves food through parts of the body called the esophgus, stomach,, and intestines. As the food passes throuugh, some of it is broken down into tiny particles called nutrients, which the body needs. Nutrients enter the body stream, which carries them to all parts of the body. The digestive system than changes the remaining food into waste that is eliminated out of the body.
Endocrine System: The endocrine system includes glands that are needed for some body functions. There are two kinds of glands produce liquids such as sweat and saliva. Endocrine glands produce liquids such as sweat and saliva. Endocrine glands produce chemicals called hormones. Hormons control body functions such as growth.
Nervous System: The nervous system enables us to feel, move, think, hear and see. It includes the brain, the spinal cord, and nerves in all parts of the body. Nerves carry signals back and forth between the brain and rest of the body. The brain tells what to do and how to respond. It has three major parts. The cerebrum controls thinking, speech and vission. The cerebellum is responsible for physical coordination. The brain stem controls the respiratory, circulatory, and digestive systems.
Skeletol System: The skeletal system is made up of bones that hold your body upright. Some bones protect organs like the ribs that cover the lungs.
Respiratory System: The respratory system allows you us to breathe. We inhale air through nose and mouth. It goes through the windpipes and two tubes called bronchi,to the lungs. The blood then carries oxygen to the cells of the body.
Musclar System: Muscles are made up of elastic fibres. There are 3 types of muscle: skeleton, smooth and cardiac. The skeleton muscles help the body move. They are large and are visible to our eyes. Smooth muscles are found in our digestive system, blood vessels, and air pressure. Cardiac muscle is found only in our heart. Smooth and Cardiac muscles are involuntary muscles - they do their job without us having to thonk about them.
Reproductve System: Through the reproductive system, adult human beings procreate. Reproduction begins when the sperm cell from a men fertilises an egg celll from a women.
Uninary System: This System includes kidneys, which cleans waste from the blood and regulates the water in the body.
Immune System: The Immune System protects our body from diseases by fighting against certain substances that come from outside, or antigens. This happens in differnt ways. For example, WBC called B lymphocytes learn to fight certain viruses and bacteria by producing antibodies, which spread around the body to attack them. sometimes as in allergies, the immune system makes a mistake and creates antibodies to fight substances that are really harmless.
